A guilty conscience can torment you.  Have you ever had to drive a truck full of trash to the dump?  I mean like to the point the bags are almost hanging off the side.   You have to keep a constant eye on your rear view mirror to make sure you don’t lose a bag on the road.  You get to the dump and get rid off all the trash and the ride home is much more pleasant and less stressful. The same is when we have so much sin that we can’t enjoy life.  The guilt is so heavy that the paranoia of our sin(bags of trash) is overflowing.  Dump your sin and feel the freedom of a clear conscience that comes from obeying the Lord.  When we accept His gift of salvation, He takes the sin away.

Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.
Hebrews 10:22

What do you take for granted?  Have you watched the news lately?  Massive earthquakes in New Zealand and the crisis in Libya.  We wake in the peacefulness of being an American.  We enjoy our coffee in the morning and try to get our kids to school on time.  Praise God faithfully and humbly.  Thank Him for the freedom of this great country and that we never take it for granted.

Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
Psalm 1:1-3

I grew up in a church where everything was very formal.  We followed the program, sang the songs, took up the offering and had the sermon.  We were out by 12:00 on the dot.  There is nothing wrong with this and many people like the formality of a service.  The church I attend now has no program, people can request a hymn that they want to sing and people share testimonies quite frequently.  The thing I like about this is people are sharing what God has laid on their heart.  There have been times that I have been hesitant to speak up because I am not use to that.  But when the Holy Spirit prompts you to share something with others you know it.  Because when you don’t, your heart is heavy.  We should be courageous and unashamed when sharing our testimonies.  In church, home or the workplace.

Remember, a small light will do a great deal when it is in a very dark place.  Put one little tallow candle in the middle of a large hall and it will give a great deal of light.  ~ D.L. Moody

For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.
2 Timothy 1:7

Are you familiar with the Golden Rule?  It doesn’t seem like it is as important to people like it use to be.  Jesus said,”Do unto others what you want them to do to you”(Matthew 7:12).  Do that just go in one ear and out the other or do take it and apply it to your heart.  Do you treat people the way you would want to be treated.  Before we jump to react, allow this rule to run through your mind.  What you say or do could come out differently.

So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.  Matthew 7:12

Doyou know of someone that had everything going for them and they lost their footing to Satan’s schemes?  As Christians we have the protection of God but we have to pray for it.  If don’t spend time in God’s word and pray for the protection we need every day, we are too could fall into a trap.  Satan is out to destroy life. He always strikes when we are least expecting it. God gives life. He is our Protector, Our Rock and Refuge!

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.
John 10:10

God doesn’t force his plans upon us, we have to figure them out for ourselves.  The best way to is pray about our plans in life and do they match up to God’ s plan?  The best way to check this is to check our life manual, the Holy Bible.  God left His word for us.  We can trust the answers we get when we stay in His word.

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is written:
  “For your sake we face death all day long;
we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.”
No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us
Romans 8:35-37

Are you one of those people who puts things off till the last minute?  Choose sooner than later.  Often we think time is on our side but our shortsightedness can cause us a heavy price.

Blessed are those who find wisdom,
   those who gain understanding.
  Proverbs 3:13

As we begin our day, do thoughts of everything you have to do start popping up in your head?  Many of us plan for days ahead or even weeks.  We should welcome every day with a renewed sense of hope and purpose.  What might seem insignificant to you could be really important to the Lord.  Every day is full of possibilities.  Our job is submit ourselves to the Lord and allow Him to work through us.

Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.  Matthew 6:34

Is your glass half full or half empty?  We often lose sight of our blessings and focus on the frustrations instead.  If you tend to always focus on the negative in your life, you will be a negative person and miss out on what God has for you.  We are  all tempted to complain about the minor frustrations of everyday living.  Train yourself to think of all your blessings and thank God for them.  You will be a happier person!

Do everything without grumbling or arguing,  so that you may become blameless and pure, “children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.” Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky.
Philippians 2:14-15

Do you feel overwhelmed by the press of everyday life?  We are all extremely busy with our schedules.  We forget to slow down long enough to spend time with God.  If we are frantically searching for God’s direction, are we slowing down long enough to get directions?  Instead of turning over our thoughts and prayers to Him, we may lean into our own understanding.  Our wisdom is limited to what God can do.  Take time to stop and open you heart to God.

From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same the LORD’s name is to be praised.
Psalm 113:3
