People have questioned when Christ’s return is for years and years.  In Matthew, No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.” “Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left. Two women will be grinding with the hand mill; one will be taken and the other left.” “Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come.” (Matthew 24:36, 40 & 42)

The truth is every day we are closer to His return which means Satan is put more in a time bind for his destruction.  In Revelation 12:12, “He is filled with fury, because  he knows his time is short.”  Isn’t it great to know the God we serve is never in a time constraint.  I love  Isaiah 66:1, This is what the LORD says: “Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool. Where is the house you will build for me? Where will my resting place be?

Remember this if you feel like the heat is being turned up in your life and never doubt what a mighty God we serve. Earth is His footstool.   We have to put on the full armor every day and fight the good fight.

Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.
1 John 4:4

Do you ever try to change the unchangeable?  Sometimes things happen beyond our control.  Our reaction can be acceptance or refusal.  Refusing can make us miserable as we struggle to change the unchangeable but accepting and moving forward can yield peace and produce a harvest in our life.

 A man’s heart plans his way,
      But the LORD directs his steps.
Proverbs 16:9

Do remember the TV shows where it showed a character trying to make the right decision and there would be a devil dressed in red with a pitchfork on one shoulder telling them what to do.  On the other shoulder would be an angel in white with a halo trying to discourage them from taking the devil’s advice. We have to be cautious of the devil’s schemes when we are hinging on decisions for our life.   Christ becomes our conscience and will lead us in the right direction.  We have to be strong in God’s word so that we can decipher right from wrong paths.

For thus says the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel:
 “ In returning and rest you shall be saved;
      In quietness and confidence shall be your strength.”
      But you would not,
       And you said, “No, for we will flee on horses”—
      Therefore you shall flee!
      And, “We will ride on swift horses”—
      Therefore those who pursue you shall be swift!
Isaiah 30:15-16

As humans, most of us are quick to anger, quick to blame, slow to forgive, and even slower to forgive.  As Christians we are commanded to forgive as we have been forgiven.  Unforgiveness cause bitterness, hatred and regret.  This is not what God intended for us to have in our life but forgiveness is.

 Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercyMatthew 5:7

Have you ever asked your parents for something and they said,” No?”  They had their reason for saying no and just because they didn’t say yes doesn’t mean they don’t love us.  They have a reason and our best interest at heart.  It is the same when we feel like God doesn’t answer prayer the way we want Him to.  Sometimes He says” No,” and we have to accept that answer even though we may not understand it.  We have to remember God sees the master plan of our life and we have to trust Him.

And they were helped against them, and the Hagarites were delivered into their hand, and all that were with them: for they cried to God in the battle, and he was intreated of them; because they put their trust in him.
1 Chronicles 5:20

We wrote up a quote on the board, “Better than I deserve.”  They said this was Mr. Hendrix response to when he was asked at school,” How are you doing today?”  Do you ever think about how you perceive your day.  Not many people have the same response that he had.  Many people would give you a response of all the things going wrong in their day.  In reality we are all better than we deserve because of what Christ did for us on the cross.  God has dealt with us better than we deserve because he loves us.  Even when you think you are having a bad day think about this fact.  We deserve death but Christ came to give us life!

 You have dealt well with Your servant,
         O LORD, according to Your word.
 Teach me good judgment and knowledge,
         For I believe Your commandments.
 Before I was afflicted I went astray,
         But now I keep Your word.
 You are good, and do good;
         Teach me Your statutes.
  The proud have forged a lie against me,
         But I will keep Your precepts with my whole heart.
Psalm 119:65-69

Courage can be contagious.  A positive outlook will be a blessing to someone who needs encouragement.  The more we trust God and who He is the more encouragement is infectious to others around us.  Make a difference in someones day and tell them how the Lord has helped you.

I will lift up my eyes to the hills-From whence comes my help?  My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth.
Psalm 121:1-2

Often when it thunders our kids come running to us.  Most children and some adults are really scared of storms.  The sound of thunder makes them nervous and scared.  How do you feel when you face the storms of life?  Most of us can say, nervous and scared.  But, if we hold on to God’s word and His promise we really have nothing to fear.  It is easier said than done.  We have to actively place our minds and heart in the Word of God.   There is assurance and peace in Christ.  So, the next time a storm starts to brew in your life run to the Lord.

He replied,”You of little faith, why are you so afraid?”  Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm
Matthew 8:26

What is the difference in wisdom and knowledge?

  Wisdom- The quality of being wise; knowledge, and the capacity to make due use of it; knowledge of the best ends and the best means; discernment and judgment; discretion; sagacity; skill; dexterity.

  Knowledge- The act or state of knowing; clear perception of fact, truth, or duty; certain apprehension; familiar cognizance; cognition.

Knowledge is acquired by reading and knowing the truth about something.  Wisdom is being wise and true wisdom comes from the Holy Spirit.  The Holy Spirit gives us discernment and judgement,  and is an important building block in life.  You can know a lot, but to be wise is to have have the right heart and mind.

By wisdom a house is built,
and through understanding it is established;
through knowledge its rooms are filled with rare and beautiful treaseures.
Proverbs 24:3-4

When we receive God’s love and forgiveness, we should also learn to love and forgive others.  When Christ lives in our hearts, He gives us the ability to forgive.  We areforever changed when we let go of unforgiveness.  I am so glad to know that Christ loves us and will always be there.  We will have a different outlook and be able to embrace the life God intended us to have.

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.”  Deuteronomy 6:5
