God knows our needs.  When we spend time with Him daily, we are strengthened by His word.  God knows our thoughts and our hearts.  When we actively turn over our troubles to him we are demonstrating that we have faith.  Our time with Him is precious and we will better equipped to handle the curve balls that life likes to throw at us.

But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
Phillipians 4:19

Don’t ever give up when your down and out.  You were bought with a price of Jesus Christ’s precious blood.  He loves you and knew you before you were ever formed.  There is nothing too big for Him.  Psalm 65 is a great chapter that speaks of His goodness.  What a mighty God we serve!

You answer us with awesome and righteous deeds,
   God our Savior,
the hope of all the ends of the earth
   and of the farthest seas,
who formed the mountains by your power,
   having armed yourself with strength,
who stilled the roaring of the seas,
   the roaring of their waves,
   and the turmoil of the nations.
The whole earth is filled with awe at your wonders;
   where morning dawns, where evening fades,
   you call forth songs of joy.
Psalm 65:5-8

God never changes.  That is what comes to mind when I hear the world news. The big topic now is gas prices.  They are rising every day.  This affects everything, including our food.  It cost more now to transport it so we see inflation at the pump and the check out at the grocery store.  This is just an example of how everything on this earth is subject to change.  Aren’t you glad we worship a God that never changes.  I love the way this verse describes our Heavenly Father.   James 1:17, Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.

Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.  Hebrews 13:8

This passage out of Luke 24 describes what it was like when the women went to the tomb after Jesus had been crucified, then buried.

 There werewomen took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb.  They found the stone rolled away from the tomb,  but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus.  While they were wondering about this, suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning stood beside them.  In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, “Why do you look for the living among the dead?

Do you ever think about this and how amazing it is!

 He is not here, but is risen Luke 24:6

We are to love the Lord with all our heart.  We are to love our neighbors as ourselves.  When we yield to bitterness we will have a hard time with this one.  1 Corinthians 13, tells us that love is the foundation upon which all our relationships are to be built.  First with our Creator and then relationships with others.

Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
This is the first and great commandment
And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets
.
Matthew 22:37-40

 How do you feel when your clothes are dirty?  Have you ever been in a situation when you didn’t have a clean pair of clothes for a more than one day?  When you get a shower and put on clean smelling clothes, don’t you feel better.  The same is with our sin.  We feel better when we get rid of it and clothe ourselves clean.   God makes us a new creature in Him.  We putt of the old things and put on the new.

That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;
And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;
And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness
.
Ephesians 4:22-24

Are you tired?  Does your heart feel heavy?  Do you feel anxious?  We all fall into these traps.  When we feel like this we need rest, perspective and God’s healing touch.  Be optimistic about your life, your work, your family and your future.  Trust your hopes not your fears.

My cup runs over.  Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the the Lord forever.
Psalm 23:5-6

Do you see your glass as half full or half empty?  Do you fall to pessimism, dwelling on the negative?  We forget to laugh anymore.  Laughter is medicine for the soul.  Don’t let worries and distractions rob you of the joy the God intended for our lives.  With Christ as your Saviour, your cup runneth over!  Be joyful with hope in your heart and laugh.

A merry heart maketh a cheerful countenance: but by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken.
Proverbs 15:13

Have you ever known someone who blames everyone under the sun for their problems?  It is much easier to blame someone else than try to improve ourselves.  Instead of solving the problems in our life, we obsess over the perceived unfairness of life while not really accomplishing much else.  We will never win if strive to play the blame game.

So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.
John 8:7

How do you spend your day?  Do you realize the day is a non-renewable source?  Once the day is up, it is gone forever.  You can’t turn back time.  Every day is full of possibilities.  It is up to us to utilize our time wisely and to carry out what God has for us.

I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.
John 9:4
