Often in this world things happen that don’t make since.  The bible says there is one true lawgiver and judge that is able to save and destroy and that is God.  No matter what outcomes are in courtrooms, schools, any institution on this earth, we all will have to answer to God.  Keeping our eyes and hearts fixed on Him will prevent us from getting down by our surrounding circumstances when you feel like there is no justice.

Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell.  Matthew 10:28

Sometimes we are in a storm in our life.  When we least expect to see help coming our way.  When we are in the storm is usually when He has our attention.  Like the disciples on the boat for nine hours in a storm, they saw something coming at them on the water.  They were terrified and thought it was a ghost.  When are broken by the fact that we are totally helpless without God is when he does his finest work in our life.

He has delivered us from such a deadly peril, and he will deliver us again. On him we have set our hope that he will continue to deliver us,  as you help us by your prayers. Then many will give thanks on our behalf for the gracious favor granted us in answer to the prayers of many
2 Corinthians 1:10-11

Have you watched the weather forecast and they said “it is going to rain”.  So you expect rain and then it changes and the sun comes out instead.  That is one thing you can count on never happening with God’s plans.  God has complete knowledge of all things.  “The plans of the Lord stand firm forever “(Psalm 33:11) God will always be the same.

For the LORD Almighty has purposed, and who can thwart him?
His hand is stretched out, and who can turn it back
Isaiah 14:27

When we seek to serve and not be served, we receive the blessing and have peace in our hearts.  We should take pride in helping others and do it when it is not even asked of us.  We should go the extra mile and be joful about it.

If anyone forces you to go one mile, go with them two miles.   Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you.
 Matthew 5:41-42

Problems have a purpose.  When we explore why we are going through the rough times and focus on God often things are revealed to us.  All things can work to the glory of God.  Trust God in all things and focus on Him.

Trust me in your times of trouble, and I will rescue you, and you will give me glory.  Pslam 50:15

Waiting on the Lord is hard to do.  We live in a world where thing is so convenient and at the touch of your fingertips.  God doesn’t work that way.  He works things out in His timing.  He has patience and takes His time when it comes to His children.  Perseverance is defined as steady persistence in a course of action, a purpose, a state, etc., especially in spite of difficulties, obstacles, or discouragement.  In spite of what we see in front us place your trust on the Lord and your hope in him.

Therefore turn thou to thy God: keep mercy and judgment, and wait on thy God continually.
Hosea 12:6

I heard something interesting the other day.  The way it was worded was, “it doesn’t matter what the date is on our tombstone, what matter is the dash.”  God knows the day we were born and our appointed time of death.  What matters is how we live our life, the dash represents that.  It made me think, what does my dash represent?  Did I live triumphantly?  Did I express my love for the Lord and did people see that in my life?  Did my friends and family know how much I love them?  What would I change?  Are there regrets or only peace?  What does your dash represent?

So teach us to number our days , that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.”  Psalm 90:12

Sometime we feel wronged by someone else.  Our first reaction is to retaliate.  When we act out on our feelings we usually get ourselves in trouble.  Always pray before you say!  God promises to protect us and His way is always better than ours.  Trust that He will take care of you.  Keep yourself safe in his hedge of protection and don’t step out of it.

Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.”
Roman 12:19

Rest day was implemented after God’s creation was complete.  We should honor this day and rest.  We all need it.  Life has become so busy we forget to take the time rest and reflect on all that God has done for us.

And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.
And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.
  Genesis 2:2-3

Everyone remembers the story of Moses but do you remember the faith of his mother.  Pharaoh had ordered every infant son of the Hebrews to be killed.  Moses’ mother knew she could not kill her baby, she valued his life and that God had a plan for Him.  She hid him for three months and then placed him in a basket in the Nile River.  Remember where Moses ended up?  Pharaoh’s daughter found him.  Moses sister was nearby to make sure her baby brother was ok.  Pharaoh’s daughter fell in love with the infant and took him as her own.  Then said his sister to Pharaoh’s daughter, Shall I go and call to thee a nurse of the Hebrew women, that she may nurse the child for thee? And Pharaoh’s daughter said to her, Go. And the maid went and called the child’s mother.

Because Moses’ mother believed in the Lord and his plan for her son, not only was he saved.  She got to take care of him until he was old enough to go live with Pharaoh’s daughter.  He grew up knowing his heritage and God used him to deliver the Israelites out of Egypt.

God has a special plan for all of us.  This is a great example of what happens when we trust the Lord.

“ The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still.” Exodus 14:14
