The most rewarding thing about working out is how you feel.  When you document your scores and look back and see how much stronger you are, you feel a sense of accomplishment.  The more disciplined we are and stay the course, the stronger we become.  The same with our relationship with the Lord.  The stronger our faith is the more we exercise it.  God is our strong tower.  There is no situation too big for Him to handle.  His strength sustains us when we are weary.  It is a training process to become strong physically and spiritually.  God will give you the endurance to push the “GO” button in life!

It is God who arms me with strength and makes my way perfect.”  2 Samuel 22:33

The parables are illustrations containing life lessons that can be applied to common situations.  Most of us could relate to any of these.  If you are looking for something to read in your devotion time, read the parables.  The Parable of the Talents is a story about a man giving a certain amount of money to three of his servants.  The two servants that received the most money used it wisely and doubled their investment.  The third servant was given the least amount and failed because of fear.  He hid his talent in the ground.  His master replied, ‘You wicked, lazy servant! So you knew that I harvest where I have not sown and gather where I have not scattered seed?  Because of fear he hid his talent and reaped nothing.

Look at the gifts God has given you.  What spiritual gifts has God given you.  Do you use them for His glory or do you hide them?  Are you fearful and stay in your comfort zone?  Pray that God will make you faithful to fulfill his goal for our life.

Then the man who had received the one talent came. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘I knew that you are a hard man, harvesting where you have not sown and gathering where you have not scattered seed.  So I was afraid and went out and hid your talent in the ground. See, here is what belongs to you.’  Matthew 25:24-25

Do you feel overwhelmed by the press of everyday life?  We are all extremely busy with our schedules.  We forget to slow down long enough to spend time with God.  If we are frantically searching for God’s direction, are we slowing down long enough to get directions?  Instead of turning over our thoughts and prayers to Him, we may lean into our own understanding.  Our wisdom is limited to what God can do.  Take time to stop and open you heart to God.

From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same the LORD’s name is to be praised.
Psalm 113:3

As we begin our day, do thoughts of everything you have to do start popping up in your head?  Many of us plan for days ahead or even weeks.  We should welcome every day with a renewed sense of hope and purpose.  What might seem insignificant to you could be really important to the Lord.  Every day is full of possibilities.  Our job is submit ourselves to the Lord and allow Him to work through us.

Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.  Matthew 6:34

Do you know of someone that had everything going for them and they lost their footing to Satan’s schemes?  As Christians we have the protection of God but we have to pray for it.  If don’t spend time in God’s word and pray for the protection we need every day, we are too could fall into a trap.  Satan is out to destroy life. He always strikes when we are least expecting it. God gives life. He is our Protector, Our Rock and Refuge!

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.
John 10:10

Many of us are battling allergies right now.  They said the pollen count is 2000.  I am not for sure what that means but I do know it is hard to sit outside without wanting to sneeze.   The definition of allergy is,  an abnormally high sensitivity to certain substances, such as pollens, foods, or microorganisms.  Right now everyone is highly sensitive to the pollen in the air.

How high is your sensitivity to our culture?  Do you look at things and not take them into consideration.  Do you see where the children accept things so easily like violence, sex and drugs where it use to be a highly sensitive thing.  We are desensitize to it. The definition of desensitize is, to make (an individual) nonreactive or insensitive to an antigen.  To make emotionally insensitive or unresponsive, as by long exposure or repeated shocks.  We are immune to what goes on around us.  We have to stay close to the Lord and His word and make sure our children know the truth and don’t become immune to the things the Lords warns us about.

Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold.  Matthew 24:12

Whether you know it or not, people are always watching you.  What kind of example do you think you set, good or bad.  How do you treat others?  Do you respect your elders?  Just as you look at someone with a critical eye, keep in mind they are critiquing you too.  When we are Christians we should especially be mindful of our attitudes because we are to be a reflection of Christ.

“Be an example to all believers in what you teach, in the way you live, in your love, your faith, and you purity….Stay true to what is right, and God will save you and those who hear you.”  1 Timothy 4:12,16

Yesterday we did the workout, “Murph”.  If you do CrossFit you know how hard this workout is.  There were times I wanted to quit, especially running a mile after 300 air squats.  Once you are finished regardless of how long it takes, there is a since of satisfaction that you completed.  We run across this same scenario in everyday life.  Do we quit when things get tough?

Do you start something and wonder how you are going to finish?  Reject thought of limitations and failure in your mind.  Negative thoughts and attitudes can deprive our future if we don’t have faith.  Just remember when something seems too hard and you can’t see the end in sight, have faith and expect great things. You will look back and feel satisfaction of completion and it will prepare you for a new challenge.

“I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord.  “Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”  Jeremiah 29:11

What is the purpose of taking care of ourselves?  What is the point of exercising and eating healthy?  We are flooded with television shows that are centered on obesity.  Americans have not always had this problem.  There was a time when people were forced to move.  People had to walk to school or work, hunt their food, and work in the garden or fields.  Kids were made to play outside.  There was no Sponge Bob or PlayStation.  What is your opinion?  Is our nation getting better or worse?

To be active seems like a chore to some people.  To some people to be active is a gift.  Don’t ever take your health for granted.  God gave us our bodies, as Christians they are a temple because the Holy Spirit lives within us.  Not only do we benefit spiritually as a result of taken care of our bodies, but we also benefit physically and emotionally.

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.  And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, the ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of  God.  Romans 12:1-2

Being a Christian is difficult in the world we live in.  The easy part of becoming a Christian is being saved.  You have to believe that Christ died on the cross for your sins.  Ask Him to come into your heart.  Growing in Christ can be a challenge.  Maybe you become saved and no one else in your family is.  Maybe some of your friends don’t support your change.  Just remember when you become a child of God, he gives us victory over sin and death.  There is no better gift than that.  He loved us so much that He sent His Son to die for our sins.

No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him.  1 Corinthians 2:9
