Did you know that God knows our needs before we ask Him?  He knows everything about us.  God reveals his knowledge through His word.  There is no problem so perplexed that God can’t handle.  We have to go in faith to our Father and ask Him for help.  Jesus says,” Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.  Take my yoke upon you.  Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”

Consider the ravens, for they neither sow nor reap, which have neither storehouse nor barn; and feeds them.  Of how much more value are you than the birds?”  Luke 12:24

Mother’s Day is a day we celebrate our mothers and all that they do.  Mothers have a very hard job.  I attended a Women of Faith conference and one of the speakers did a skit about moms and all the different hats moms wear.  The accountant, the cook, the chauffeur, the fan, the nurse, the wife, etc..  Most moms can relate to this or you can think of how much your mother did for you growing up.

The wise woman builds her house, but with her own hands the foolish one tears hers down.  Proverbs 14:1

Do feel like you have grown as a Christian or stayed at the same level?  How do we grow as Christians?  Satan desires to keep us small and ineffective but God wants us to grow.  What keeps you from growing?  Ask God to show you and help you overcome these obstacles.

We ought always to thank God for you, brothers and sisters, and rightly so, because your faith is growing more and more, and the love all of you have for one another is increasing.  Therefore, among God’s churches we boast about your perseverance and faith in all the persecutions and trials you are enduring.
2 Thessalonians 1:3-4

Once you become God’s child, nothing can separate us from God’s love. We might make decisions that place farther from Him, but he never distances himself.  We are the ones that draw away and allow circumstances to change our heart.  But God is always the same.  Do you believe that? He gave up His only Son for us all. He gave us Christ. Many of us have suffered heartache of losing someone. You don’t ever have to worry about losing God. God is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. That is the one and only things you count on in this life!

“If God is for us, who can ever be against us?”
Romans 8:31b

What is your central motivating factor every day? Do you pray in the morning before you start your day? When making decisions do consult God first? Are we so rushed we don’t think about God when we get up? We always feel pressed to make a decision without praying because we can’t wait on the Lord. The psalmist wrote in chapter 139:23, “Search me God and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts.” Trust God and search Him and you will have your answer.

“You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” Jeremiah 29:13

Most of our obstacles in life are mental. We have to overcome fears and anxieties. Many people are hesitant to do a box jump. The box looks so high and we are not sure of our proprioception. Most of what we do in CrossFit is breaking past those mental barriers, of I can’t. Many people surpassed the height they thought they could. So how do we know when we should go out on a limb or hug the trunk?  God tells us to fear nothing but Him.  If we hold fast to His word, he will guide our path.

For great is the Lord and most worthy of praise; he is to be feared above all gods. For all the gods of the nations are idols, but the Lord made the heavens.
1 Chronicles 16:25-26

Whether you know it or not, people are always watching you. What kind of example do you think you set, good or bad. How do you treat others? Do you respect your elders? Just as you look at someone with a critical eye, keep in mind they are critiquing you too. When we are Christians we should especially be mindful of our attitudes because we are to be a reflection of Christ.

“Be an example to all believers in what you teach, in the way you live, in your love, your faith, and you purity….Stay true to what is right, and God will save you and those who hear you.” 1 Timothy 4:12,16

We did a workout where we had to farmer carry for four minutes.  The weight had to be a heavy as possible.  At first the weight is not bad and then by minute two it seems like your forearms are burning and you have to set the weight down quite often.

We all carry some weight in our life.  It usually doesn’t affect us until we get weary.  Sometimes we carry things in our life that hold so much weight and keep us from enjoying the life God intended on us to live. Why is it so hard to give it to God. Most of us like worrying about it instead. We feel as if we worry about it, it will give us some sort of control over the situation. Not true. Worry, doubt and fear can be weights in our life that give us no control. God has total control over all things. Trust Him and ask to help you if there is something weighing you down.

“Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. Hebrews 12:1-2

Humilty is the opposite of pride. Pride is a natural characteristic of human nature but humility is a characteristic of our Lord and Savior.  If he was prideful he would have never humbled himself to become sin for us and die on the cross.  If we glorify anything in our life apart from the Lord we are being prideful because of him we have life.

“It is to be no longer always noticing yourself and how you are doing and how you are being treated. It is “blessed self-forgetfulness.” ~C.S. Lewis

“Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”~Matthew 5:3

When does God’s peace become our peace? When do you let Him rule your heart. If you are struggling with peace in your life, what are you chasing after to give you peace? The world has nothing to offer you that is an everlasting peace. You may think there are things that you would help you feel better but don’t buy into it. They will leave you bankrupt of peace and leave you in despair. There is only one who can give you the peace that last and that is God.

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” John 14:27
