Moses in Exodus 33:18, asked God, “show me your glory.”  We are surrounded by God’s glory every day, but do yearn for his greatness to be revealed in our life.  Do we come to him everyday and beg to see Him.  Is our focus on ourselves or God?  If we focus on what the world predicts for our future, it can look pretty gloomy.  But if we focus on God, it brightens our day.

Be exalted, O God, above the heavens;
let your glory be over all the earth.
Psalm 108:5

Saturday 3.24.12

Have you heard of strongholds?  A stronghold is anything that masters you.  Thoughts play a big part in who we are and how we live our life.  “It is easier to pull a weed than pull a tree out of the ground,” Hammond.

Our thoughts can be mastered by our past, so deep rooted that it controls our actions for the rest of our life. It doesn’t stop there.  Then we infiltrate our children with this.  These are sometimes called “generational strongholds.”  ”Strongholds are our way of thinking and living that create a fortress where Satan has dominion rather than God in your life.,” Hammond.  

So, how do we stop this?  Trust in the Lord with ALL your heart and lean not into your own understanding.  Ask God to tear down these walls of opposition that keep you from running the race that God has set before you!

 For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does.  The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.  We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.

Complete as many rounds as possible in 3 minutes:  

3 Power Snatches (145/100)
6 Push Ups
9 Air Squats /9 Dips

Perform air squats on rounds 1, 3, 5 and dips on rounds 2, 4, 6.

Rest for 1 minute between rounds for a total of 6 rounds.

We will be making a change with our Saturday morning WOD with GOD devotion.  As soon as our women’s bible study comes to a close we will be entering into a new coed group devotion.  We will discuss and make an appropriate time and day for this study. Until then we will postpone our Saturday morning devotion.

You can rest in the promise that God gives you.  You can remain steadfast in His word and it will not return void.  People make promises and break them and break our hearts.  You don’t have to worry about that with God.  His word does not fail.  In Romans it says, Therefore, the promise comes by faith, so that it may be by grace and may be guaranteed to all Abraham’s offspring—not only to those who are of the law but also to those who have the faith of Abraham. He is the father of us all. The key is faith, we have to trust that God has great things for us.

 “Praise be to the LORD, who has given rest to his people Israel just as he promised. Not one word has failed of all the good promises he gave through his servant Moses.”  1 Kings 8:56

Thursday 3.22.12

When was the last time you had to wait on something?  Do you find yourself upset when you go through the drive through and they say,”It will be a couple of minutes on your chicken.  Do you care to wait?”  Wait?  In a drive-thru?  We are so accustomed to everything being right here, right now.  Waiting is also called patience.  The Greek word, Hupomone  is generally translated ” patience” or ” endurance” ; the idea is of the staying power that keeps a man going to the end.  How many people do you know possess Hupomone or patience?  But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.  When we don’t wait on the Lord we jump from the frying pan to the fire.  God will answer our prayer in His time and it is not like asking Jeeves and getting an immediate answer.  It is asking and trusting the right answer will come at the right time.
