Being humble is not a popular idea in our culture.  As shows are running ramped on our televisions about the reality of people lives being splashed for entertainment.  Even though we all get caught getting rapped up in these shows.  Why is it fascinating to watch people’s ups and down on t.v.?  Maybe because it makes us forget about the reality of our own life.  Whatever the case we are commanded to be humble.  Lead a quiet life.

Here is a quote by St. Augustine..  Do you wish to be great? Then begin by being humble. Do you desire to construct a vast and lofty fabric? Think first about the foundations of humility. The higher your structure is to be, the deeper must be its foundation.

Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves.
Philippians 2:3

Why do we have such a hard time believing that we are forgiven?  Often we it so hard to forget the mistakes we have made.  So many people will carry this burden with them all their life.  The bible tells us to throw off the weight that burdens us from running a race.  Have you ever ran carrying a sand bag or a 20 lb. med ball.  I guarantee you did not run as fast and it was a lot harder than if you were just running free from any weight.  Ask God to help you so that you can run your race with perseverance.

Teams of 2 complete the following for time:

800 M Run (MMS)
100 Push Ups
1000 M Row
300 Double Unders
800 M Run (MMS)
Hand Walk 500 feet (rotate every 50 feet)

Each partner will each perform the run and row together.  Movements will completed as a team, one person working while the other is resting until all reps have been completed.

Meet Chad Jones, a former New York Giant and star athlete from LSU whose promising professional career was put on hold by a tragic car accident before it even had a chance to begin.

The film details Chad’s incredible will and determination while rehabbing and trying to recover from the horrific accident that nearly cost him his life. It also provides an unflinching view of an elite athlete facing unimaginable tragedy and refusing to submit.

Have you ever heard the Natalie Grant song, “Your Great Name”?  The lyrics are so good and great to listen to for encouragement.  The first verse:
Lost are saved; find their way; at the sound of your great name
All condemned; feel no shame, at the sound of your great name
Every fear; has no place; at the sound of your great name
The enemy; he has to leave; at the sound of your great name

Jesus, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain for us, Son of God and Man
You are high and lifted up; that all the world will praise your great name

We get attacked through out the day and night by Satan.  He tries to instill fear in us either about finances, illness, terror attacks, etc..  I love the part where it says, the enemy has to leave at the sound of your great name!  We underestimate the God we serve.  Because it is biblical that Satan has no ground where the Holy Spirit is.  Don’t ever doubt that Jesus is worthy to be praise and trusted!

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence.
