Wednesday 5.4.11

Most adults can look back at middle school or high school and tell you who was popular, who was the school bully and the people that you just didn’t like.  Especially if you played sports, it was probably an opponent you played.  As we grow older and mature our disregard for these people should fade.  We realize that they are really not that bad.  What seemed like a big deal then is nothing now.  I heard someone say once, That the people they despised the most growing up ended being some of their best friends in their adult years.  They found they had more in common and were more alike those people than they realized.

If their someone that you still hold a grudge against, we should pray for them.  If you have children that are facing the teen years encourage them to keep their heart right.  Kids often react fast and say do things they regret later.  Adults do this too.  Always try to treat people they way you would want to be treated.

But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your Father in heaven.
Matthew 5:44-45
