Many of us are focusing on making changes in the New Year. Here are some definitions of transformation;
1. a. The act or an instance of transforming.
b. The state of being transformed.
2. A marked change, as in appearance or character, usually for the better.
What comes to your mind when you think about yourself being transformed? In my mind I used to think about the show Extreme Makeover. But, even if I had a radical change on the outside, what about the inside? A lasting change starts in the depth of your heart. Circumstances change in life but God never changes. If we are not transformed in our hearts with putting God first we cannot expect to ever feel truly transformed. God will give us the discipline to make the transformations in other areas of our life and to keep it in balance. We will be like a dog chasing its tail and continually trying to change our outside to make us happy when the change has to take place in our hearts first.
“Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is -his good, pleasing and perfect will.”
Romans 12:2
