Tuesday 9.18.12

The WOD with GOD has not been updated for awhile and for that I am very sorry.  Lately things have been a little crazy but that is no excuse for allowing this post to suffer.  We all get busy with work, family, home chores, etc..  Sharing the Word should be on the forefront of our day, all the time.  In writing the WOD with God there are times some topics are very clear about what to write about.   Today is, put God first in all things.  A biblical example of this and I think we can all identify with this.

In Luke 10: 38-40, As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what he said. But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!”

Martha was more concerned about keeping her house clean than listening to what the Lord had to say.  Do you feel that way sometime?  Our immediate response to the day is getting out the door on time, making sure everyone has their lunch, what bills do I need to pay, do we have practice today, do I need to go to the grocery store?  Instead we should focus on, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind.”  Some of you might be thinking, how does this help?  If we start in the truth that God has left us to live by will live in his word and promise and make the right decisions that will keep on the path he has set before us.    Start your day enveloped in His word.  Be Mary, sit at His feet.  Martha gained nothing but frustration.

Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, but only one thing is needed. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”
Luke 10:41-42
