Have you ever someone tell you not to be half-hearted?  I know there were times I have done things half-hearted and the results were not very rewarding.  This can pertain to workouts also.  If we really don’t want to be there, how are you going to feel about it?  It has to be desire to make yourself better for all the right reasons, not the wrong.

We ask the Lord to change our heart when we want to live our life for him.  Do we give him our whole heart or just bits and pieces?  A divided heart can cause a lot of trouble.  Only God can be trusted with our hearts and He give us safety when we devote whole heartily.  God wants us to serve him because we want to.  If our intentions or motives are wrong it is evident in how we  attitudes are.  I know there have been times when my heart was divided and before I knew it my life was in a state of calamity.  We don’t have control over our emotions and actions unless we give God total control.

I was watching a special on Appalachian State’s football team on ESPN and the coach was talking to his players in the locker room and he asked them this question.  ” What are you willing to give up to be your best, now, what are really willing to give up to be your best?”

“And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind:  for the Lord searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts:  if thou seek him, he will be found of thee; but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off  for ever.”
1 Chronicles 28:9
