The story of Joseph and his brothers is one of the greatest in the bible. Joseph was thrown into a pit by his brothers and then sold to the Midianites. The brothers took Joseph’s clothes to their father and staged it to look as if he been attacked by an animal. The brothers had always been jealous of their brother because his father favored him and gave him a coat of many colors.
Have you ever felt hated because of your position? Maybe at work or at school, people tend to turn against people that seem to have favour. Even Though Joseph was persecuted by his brothers, he still chose to preserve them years later when they came to him to get grain. Through all Joseph’s adversity he never wavered his stand with the Lord. Joseph had the opportunity to return evil for evil, but instead he did not. He loved his brothers despite of what they had done he blessed them.
When we are wronged by people it is easy to be mad and harbor that resentfulness. But, what good does that do? Next time we feel this way, think about Joseph. If we too beleive through all things God has a great plan, we will not be disappointed. There is deliverance for those who beleive in the Lord.
And Joseph said unto his brethren, Come near to me, I pray you. And they came near. And he said , I am Joseph your brother, whom ye sold into Egypt. Now therefore be not grieved, nor angry with yourselves, that ye sold me hither: for God did send me before you to preserve life.
And God sent me before you to preserve you a posterity in the earth, and to save your lives by a great deliverance.
