Have you heard of strongholds?  A stronghold is anything that masters you.  Thoughts play a big part in who we are and how we live our life.  “It is easier to pull a weed than pull a tree out of the ground,” Hammond.

Our thoughts can be mastered by our past, so deep rooted that it controls our actions for the rest of our life. It doesn’t stop there.  Then we infiltrate our children with this.  These are sometimes called “generational strongholds.”  “Strongholds are our way of thinking and living that create a fortress where Satan has dominion rather than God in your life.,” Hammond.

So, how do we stop this?  Trust in the Lord with ALL your heart and lean not into your own understanding.  Ask God to tear down these walls of opposition that keep you from running the race that God has set before you!

For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does.  The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.  We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.
2 Corinthians 10:3-5
