Tuesday 2.22.11

I grew up in a church where everything was very formal.  We followed the program, sang the songs, took up the offering and had the sermon.  We were out by 12:00 on the dot.  There is nothing wrong with this and many people like the formality of a service.  The church I attend now has no program, people can request a hymn that they want to sing and people share testimonies quite frequently.  The thing I like about this is people are sharing what God has laid on their heart.  There have been times that I have been hesitant to speak up because I am not use to that.  But when the Holy Spirit prompts you to share something with others you know it.  Because when you don’t, your heart is heavy.  We should be courageous and unashamed when sharing our testimonies.  In church, home or the workplace.

Remember, a small light will do a great deal when it is in a very dark place.  Put one little tallow candle in the middle of a large hall and it will give a great deal of light.  ~ D.L. Moody

For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.
2 Timothy 1:7
