Have you ever felt the Lord impress on your heart to reach out to someone? Maybe you have been in church and your heart feels heavy. Part of you wants to stand up and tell everyone what the Lord has done for you. Part of you wants to stay in your seat because someone might think you sound crazy. Often when we feel this in our hearts, it is the Holy Spirit trying to work through us. When we quench the fire in our hearts, we grieve the Holy Spirit.
Remember when you were in middle school and it was important where you sat at the lunch table? What if a friend of yours that didn’t quite fit in with the “popular crowd”, came to sit by you and you didn’t make room for him/her? It would make them feel sad because you were too scared about what others might think. How would feel if it was you and they didn’t want you to sit with them? I think Christ is very saddened when we are embarrassed by him. Don’t be scared to share with what the Lord has done for you. It might be the only time some people hear about the Lord
And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Ephesians 4:30
