As we approach thanksgiving do you stop and think about what you are thankful for? Thanksgiving is defined as giving thanks or a prayer of expressing gratitude. Do you offer thanksgiving every day or just one day out of the year? In 1 Thessalonians 5:18, “give thanks in all circumstances for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” Even in our worst of times we can find something to be thankful for.
We can all find thankfulness for our family, friends, jobs, roof over our head, etc… Take away all that, what would you be thankful for? Do we realize as Christians we are winners no matter what. Because of Christ we have eternal life. So if everything else fades away we still have a promise and a hope in the Lord! Offer thanks to the Lord for he is worthy of honor and praise!
“So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.” Colossians 2:6-7
