Is there a balance of your ideas of what your relationship to God is and your actual walk with him? In Isaiah 64:6, the bible says all of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags; we all shrivel up like a leaf, and like the wind our sins sweep us away. Most often we think really highly of ourselves and what we think our relationship to God is. But, if there was a fly on the wall in our homes and workplace, what would they reveal? Remember God sees our hearts and knows our thoughts. Even though we can hide from friends and family the gook and muck in our life, you can’t hide it from the One who created you and me. The spotless Lamb is the only one who can make us clean.
“Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, . . . But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.” 1 Peter 1:18-19
