Do you ever wonder how good our survival skills are?  Sometimes we are tested when it snows and we lose power.  Do you know how to function without it or do you freak out?  This was tested in our home last winter.  I realized how dependant we were on electricity and technology.  Do you ever think about how our grandparents grew up?  I can see how spoiled we are to have the luxuries we have today.  In some ways I think they have handicapped us from using the skills we were meant to have.  To gather our own food and prepare it.  I can see where technology takes away from family time.  We get in the habit of being entertained by the television where we don’t have to think or talk, we just stare.  When we lost power, it was fun in some ways.  We sat around and told stories and got in bed at 7:00.  I think we can all say that we don’t want to lose all the things that help us make life easier. I do think it is important not to forgot the skills that God gave us.  We are all made in His image.  Think about what your strengths are and try to implement them in your life.  God gave all the creatures on earth a job.  It is truly amazing to think about how every being has a certain task, so don’t forget that God created you for a certain task.

“Four things on earth are small, yet they are extrememly wise:  Ants are creatures of little strength, yet  they store up their food in the summer; coneys are creartures of little power, yet they make their home in the crags; locust have no king, yet they advance together in ranks; a lizard can be caught with the hand, yet it is found in kings’ palaces.
Proverbs 31:24-28
