Yesterday we took some time at the gym to reevaluate our goals. What are we working for? What drives us to show up everyday? Some people come because they want to be stronger. Some people come because they want to be healthier. Maybe they have something they are training for. Going to the army, playing a college sport, being healthy for our kids, etc. We have a variety of people and a variety of reasons to come. When does it become more than just a workout? It becomes pushing yourself outside your comfort zone to do the impossible. When we realize we can accomplish these things in the gym, we carry it out in other aspects of our life. If we never press our self to become more than we won’t. In Proverbs 14:23, All hard work brings a profit. So the question is, what are we working for? What is our goal? What were we created for? We all have a purpose to benefit the kingdom of God. Are we working towards that or not?
In Ephesians 6:10, It says,”Be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.” It says to be strong, not weak. We have to build our strength spiritually by staying in constant communion with the Lord and reading His word. We will reap the benefits of being strengthened everyday by the truth and having the armor of God to stand against the devil and his schemes.
Surely he says this for us, doesn’t he? Yes, this was written for us, because whoever plows and threshes should be able to do so in the hope of sharing in the harvest. 1 Corinthians 9:10
[…] WOD with GOD Eat meat and vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch and no sugar. Keep intake to levels that will support exercise but not body fat. Practice and train major lifts: Deadlift, clean, squat, presses, clean and jerk, and snatch. Similarly, master the basics of gymnastics: pull-ups, dips, rope climb, push-ups, sit-ups, presses to handstand, paralettes, flips, splits, and holds. Bike, run, swim, row, etc, hard and fast. Five or six days per week mix these elements in as many combinations and patterns as creativity will allow. Routine is the enemy. Keep workouts short and intense. Regularly learn and play new sports.~Greg Glassman […]
Great truth, thank you for sharing!
Thanks for the words of encouragement! Just another reason I miss my Murphy Crossfit family. At least I can read it and get support on the road! Thanks!
