Never give up! That is what I tell myself sometimes in a workout and I just want to quit. For example the other day we did the workout, “Kelly”. The workout was, 400m run, 30 box jumps, 30 wall balls, five rounds for time. Sounds pretty simple right? It was one of the hardest ones we’ve done. About round three, the wall balls were getting pretty hard. What makes us want to finish something? What would the results had been if I had quit? I don’t know about you but I would be so mad at myself. I would never get stronger at anything if I quit when I felt like giving up.
Perseverance is not only crucial in workouts, but also in our life. When things get hard we can’t just take the easy way out. In our walk with God, sometimes the troubles we face are so hard. If we fix our eyes on Jesus we see that He is greater than anything we will face. Don’t give up on your Christian walk just because the easier path would be to follow the world.
“That is why we never give up. Though our bodies are dying, our spirits are being renewed every day. For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever! So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever.”
