Why do we ever doubt what the Lord can do? We put guidelines on what we think he is capable of. Somewhere faith has become so distant to our hearts and minds. Our hearts have become hard.
Jesus feeds 5,000 with five loaves and two fish. It say the disciples picked up the baskets of leftover bread and fish after the multitude was fed. After this took place the disciples headed across a lake to Bethsaida. While they were in their boat late that night came a storm and they were having a hard time rowing. They saw someone heading toward them, walking on water. They were scared and thought it was a ghost. Jesus said, “take courage! I am here!” As soon as he climbed in the boat, the wind stopped.
Have you ever longed to hear those words from the Lord? Sometimes when the winds of life are blowing and we have no control, take courage and know the Lord is here. The bible also states that the disciples hearts were too hard to take in the significance of the miracle when Jesus fed the 5,000. Do not let your heart become hard and weigh you down. It can keep you from experiencing the greatness of the Lord.
“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.”
Hebrews 12:1
