Monday 8.16.10

Taking time to read God’s word and pray is something you should try to do everyday.  Starting your day off in God’s word equips you for what you will encounter.  Reading his word is putting on the full armor.  The gospel gives the believer a firm footing against Satan’s strategies.  In Ephesians 6:10-18 it discusses the armor of a Spirit-filled believer.  The helmet of salvation, breastplate of righteousness, lions girt about with Truth, Shield of Faith, Sword of the Spirit and Feet shod with preparation of the gospel of peace.  I encourage you to read this passage.  We fight the battle everyday of spiritual warfare and cannot win unequipped.  The morning is the best time.  We will have the words of truth with us for the rest of the day!

“Come, my people, enter thou into thy chambers, and shut they doors about thee:  hide thyself as it were for a little moment, until the indignation be overpast.”  Isaiah 26:20

So true. I find if you can start the day with a scripture, that undoubtedly during the course of that day it will apply to at least one situation we come across.

The Word is the truth, the way, and the life. It’s a weapon in spirtual warfare both with the outside world and with the personal demons we wrestle with daily. It’s so true what Ethan says about situations applying to scriptures read. It’s factual preparation for what God has instore for us today.
