Have you ever heard the story about the good Samaritan?  In the New Testament it describes a man who has beaten and robbed laid on the road and a priest and Levite both passed the man and left him there.  They were unwilling to stop and help.  Then the Samaritan who passed took pity on the man.  The least likely person to help was the one who helped.  Samaritans were not considered “good” people.  The two that passed should have stopped based on their positions.  Yet, the Samaritan had great compassion for this man in need.

Think about this story and after reading our verse today, who is your neighbor?

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’; and ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.”
Luke 10:27
