In 1 Corinthians 13:4-8, this scripture describes the attributes of Love. Read this verse and where Love is replace it with your name. Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. How do you feel when you read your name in with the scripture? If we did this everyday and tried to live our life being patient, kind, not envious, not easily angered, don’t you think you would see a difference. I know I would.
The prior of the verse states, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing. We are nothing without love. It is the ingredient to the life God intended his children to have.
But you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness.
