Would you buy a house that you knew the foundation was bad? Have you ever heard of when house has termite damage in the foundation or the concrete slab has a big crack in it? Most people would be leery of that problem because the foundation is the crucial to the stability of the home.
It is the same way with our foundation. If we have a weak foundation in the Lord, it won’t take much to wipe us out. Our foundation has to be strong to withstand the storms of life. Reading and obeying God’s word will give us the tools we need.
“Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock. Though the rain comes in torrents and floodwaters rise and the winds beat against that house, it won’t collapse because it is built on bedrock. But anyone who hears my teaching and doesn’t obey it is foolish, like a person who builds a house on sand. When the rains and floods come and the winds beat against that house, it will collapse with a mighty crash.” Matthew 7:24-27
