This is the time of the year everyone is getting ready to go back to school. Some are starting for their first time going to kindergarten. Some are leaving home to go to college. August brings many emotions; sad, excited, or scary. Kids are working toward a goal to graduate and know what they want their occupation to be.
Do you remember when people would ask you, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” The answer might have been, a veternarian, a doctor, a dentist, a firefighter or maybe even a pro football player. We all had a dream when we were little of what we wanted to do. Did we go for it or chicken out? Did we take the easier path? Did we go out on a limb or hug the tree trunk?
How do we know we are in God’s will for our life? We should always pray about His direction in our life. We should have clarity and a peace when we go for His purpose in our life. God’s vision for us inspires hope in greater possibilities.
“My thoughts are completely different from yours, “says the Lord. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than you thoughts.” Isaiah 55:8-9
In regards to direction, clarity of purpose, and God’s will in our life; I believe that Paul said it best in his prayer for us,
2 Thessalonians 1:11-12
“With this in mind, we constantly pray for you, that our God may count you worthy of his calling, and that by his power he may fulfill every good purpose of yours and every act prompted by your faith. We pray this so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.”
