Monday. 7.12.10

God made us in his own image.  We are to reflect his nature, including his character traits.  We have the potential to be loving, truthful, patient, forgiving, kind, and faithful.  Being made in God’s image does not mean you are a god, or even godly, but that you hae many of the characteristics of God himself.  God wants us to use them as he uses them–to honor and benefit others.

Those who are wise will shine as bright as the sky, and those who turn many to righteousness will shine like stars forever Daniel 12:3

Sunday 7.11.10

Integrity means knowing what you believe and living as though you believe it.  No one is a better model of this than Jesus.  Though we can never be perfect as he was, we can always grow in integrity.  This involves being faithful in every area of your life, no matter how small.  In fact, you’ll probably find that it is in the small things that your integrity will be tested the most.

Unless you are faithful in small matters, you won’t be faithful in large ones.  If you cheat even a little, you won’t be honest with greater responsibilities.  Luke 16:10

Saturday 7.10.10

Good leaders let people know what they expect of them.  Set a goal that is challenging but acheivable and explain how you will determine when the goal is met.  Like Jesus, explain the costs and rewards of following.  If you don’t believe in what you are doing, neither will those who follow you.

If you try to keep your life for yourself, you will lose it.  But if you give up your life for me, you will find true life Luke 9:24

Friday 7.9.10

There are several ways to find God’s vision for your life:  Through his Word, through the conscience he has built into you, through the counsel of other godly people, and through prayer.  God wants to reveal his vision for your life.  Believe in his power, seek his guidence each day, and be alert to the ways that he answers you.

Beacause I have done what is right, I will see you.  when I awake, I will be fully satisfied, for I will wee your face-to-face.  Psalm 119:18

Thursday 7.8.10

You already have some vision of the future.  Seeking God’s vision breaks your bondage to small ideas that are not worthy of God or representative of God’s work in the world.  God’s vision inspires hope in greater possibilities.  By aligning your vision with God’s vision for your life, you will be able to navigate your future with purpose and clarity.

The truth is, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works, because I am going to be with the Father. John 14:12

Wednesday 7.7.10

You harvest what you plant.  Pumpkins seed produce pumpkins.  Squash plants produce squash.  That is why you must ask the Lord to plant within you a clean heart, so that your life will produce clean thoughts, actions, and motives.  The bad desires and thoughts that remain are evidence that some bad seeds have also been planted and you need to do some weeding.  Complete renewal is not yet accomplished.  None of us will be entirely pure in this life, but purity of mind and heart is one of the most worthy goals to pursue.  Is it your goal?  How will you strive to reach your goals inside and out?

I am sure that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on that day when Christ Jesus comes back again.  Philippians 1: 6

Create in me a clean heart, O God.  Renew a right spirit within me.  Psalm 51:10

Tuesday 7.6.10

Time invested in obedience to God results in a reputation that brings honor and respect.  Reputation is the yardstick that others use to measure your character–the real you.  You can build a good reputation by consistent, godly behavior, and you can start today.  Be encouraged by God’s promise to redeem any bad situation, and ask God to continue his work in your life so that you can be a living example of the change that Jesus brings to all who trust him.

They will see your honorable behavior, and they will believe and give honor to God. 1 Peter 2:12

Christians becom new persons.  They are not the same anymore, for the old life is gone.  A new life has begun!!  2 Corinthians 5:17

Monday 7.5.10

Just as we get stronger the more we exercise, the stronger our faith is the more we exercise it.  God is our strong tower.  There is no situation too big for Him to handle.  His strength sustains us when we are weary.  It is a training process to become strong physically and spiritually.

“It is God who arms me with strength and makes my way perfect.”  2 Samuel 22:33
