Thursday 3.27.14

Have you ever  sat through a class and when it was over you can’t remember one thing the teacher said.  You probably were not paying attention because you had other important things on your mind.  The same distractions can keep us from obtaining the Word of God.  Believers can live in defeat because we never apply the Word to our life.  Hearing is not enough.  We have to apply it to our life and then we will reap the benefits.

“so is my word that goes out from my mouth:
It will not return to me empty,
but will accomplish what I desire and acheive
the purpose for which I sent it.”

Isaiah 55:11

Saturday 7.21.12

If today was your last day on earth, what would you want people to remember about you?  What would your regrets be?  If we have the ability to make these things right while we are alive, then we should pray and ask God to show us how.  Because one day we will die and everything on this earth will be gone and we will come face to face with our Lord.  Does that scare you? Do you get excited when you get to see Jesus for the first time?

But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.
Romans 5:8-9

Saturday 6.16.12

Perseverance is not only crucial in workouts, but also in our life. When things get hard we can’t just take the easy way out. In our walk with God, sometimes the troubles we face are so hard. If we fix our eyes on Jesus we see that He is greater than anything we will face. Don’t give up on your Christian walk just because the easier path would be to follow the world.  When you feel like everything is working against you remember, “Don’t Give Up!

“That is why we never give up. Though our bodies are dying, our spirits are being renewed every day. For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever! So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever.”
2 Corinthians 4:16-18

Sunday 6.3.12

I am the worse to call a friend or family member immediately to ask their advice.  We become too dependant on other people’s advice instead of just calling on the Lord.  We often run to the phone to call someone we depend on for advice when we need it. Do you dial the number and panic when they don’t answer.  God always has the right answers, you just have to call on him. He is always ready for us to pour out our hearts and lean on him.

‘Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.
Jeremiah 33:3

Friday 5.25.12

Do you push yourself every day to what you can obtain financially?  There is alot of financial strain on families now.  The devil uses or desire to gain more worldly goods for our families as a stumbling block.  We have to provide for our children but the most important thing we provide them is ourselves.  Do you invest time in your children apart form school work and sports. Do you invest in their eternity teaching them the word of God, that no scholarship or six figure income could ever achieve for them. What do we work for and who?

No one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money.”
Matthew 6:24

Sunday 5.20.12

Doubt is something we all wrestle with. Does it mean we have lost faith or fighting for it. When we pray for faith does God give us faith or an opportunity to be faithful? We pray for patience, Does God give us patience or the opportunity to be patient. We all want to be spoon fed everything we ask for. But if it came easily, would we appreciate it? Don’t doubt God hears our prayers.

Jesus replied, “Truly I tell you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and it will be done.
Matthew 21:21
