“To be successful you must accept all challenges that come your way. You can’t just accept the ones you like”~Mike Gafka
I could count the number of great men I have been blessed to have in my life on two hands. Mark Farmer is one of those men. Mark walked in to the gym every day with his tool bag serving as a gym bag with a smile on his face. His work ethic in life was displayed each day at the gym. He was steadfast and appreciative to just have to opportunity to work out. I have described him multiple times as “strong as a bull” because he would deadlift 225lbs. at not think twice about it. I pray with my children every morning that the people we come in contact with each day can see Christ in us. I pray that they will be able to see him in our speech, our actions, and how we treat people. Mark Farmer was a representation of that prayer. He would work out at 8:15am, knowing that as soon as the sun would hit he would get on a roof for the rest of the day where he would again be appreciative of the opportunity to work. He would change clothes each morning and put is toboggan on and head out for more work. My family is very thankful to have the chance to cross paths with this man and his family. He has made an impact on me and every person he knows.
8am class won’t be the same without his smiling face and words of encouragement. Prayers for the Farmer family.
Our prayers are with the Farmer family and we are very sorry for your loss.
We all are so broken-hearted. Both Mark and Sandy have been a bright spot in our morning class. I pray God’s incredible grace and strength will be poured out to the whole Farmer family and may the love and support of His people give you encouragement!
I’ve known the Farmer’s what seems like my entire life. Mark was always a genuine person with a contagious smile. Love and prayers for his sweet family.
We will miss that sweet smile every day at 8:15. What a wonderful man. God blessed us all for allowing him to enter our lives. We will miss his sweet, kind spirit. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Farmer family. We prayer that they feel all our love.
To echo what others have already said, Mark Farmer was such a great man. For quite some time I had the opportunity to coach the 8:15 class. During that time, never once can I recall hearing Mark complain about anything. He was usually the first person there for the class and would always come in with a big, bright smile on his face excited about the workout and the day that was ahead. He had such a positive impact on so many people and he will be missed tremendously. God definitely brought a great man home yesterday. Thoughts and prayers are with the entire Farmer family.
I got to know Mark on a job he did for me. I’ve never met a man so filled with joy, happiness, and encouragement everyday as Mark! He will definitely be missed!! He has been a blessing to me and many other people!! Praying for the wonderful Farmer family!!
“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:14-16
This verse describes Mark because he exemplified this to all of us on a daily basis. What a testimony of a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be greatly missed.
Mark Farmer has played a significant role in my husbands walk toward salvation. For that alone, I will be eternally grateful! He was loved by everyone and those that had the honor to meet him has forever been changed. The whole Farmer family has been a blessing to CrossFit and we are all better because of them. 8:15 will never be the same but his spirit lives on in each of us who had the privilege to embrace his spirit and workout beside him. We pray for peace for you all. We love you Sandy ❤️
