How much time do you spend with the Lord? Do we give Him our best or what is left over. Do we squeeze in a few words at night before we go to bed? We are all so busy in life. Most of us don’t know whether we are coming or going? Satan likes for us to stay busy and uses the things in our life that are daily and routine to us to hinder our relationship to our Father. Pray for God to show how and when to do better. He loves us and he wants to fellowship with his children. If you have children, don’t you look forward to spending time with them?
For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God.
The trials of this life are a reminder that Earth is not our home. 2 Corinthians 4:18, While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal. Our small community recently lost people to a tragic event and we try to explain why do these things happen. The Bible says, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. Reach out to people that are hurting and remind them of the promises God has given us.
He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the LORD hath spoken it. And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is the LORD; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation. Isaiah 25:8-12
Do you have a list when you go to the grocery store? Or, do you just go and have in mind what you need? Do you stick to your budget or go over and beyond? When you built your house or know of someone who built a house, did they use a blue print? Or, did they just figure they would know what to do? Why is it that so often we jump two feet first without a plan? We often bypass asking God for help and we make mistakes. Try to look before you jump. Rushed decisions usually are not the best. Have you ever thought about going to your heavenly Father and just talk to him? He wants us to depend on Him but we have to read His word to understand what He wants us to do.
I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye. Psalm 32:8
Have you been let down by a role model or an authority figure in your life? How did this affect you relationship with God and your outlook on life? People can inspire us but we can’t put our faith in them. People are not exempt from making mistakes. They will let you down and disappoint you. We are to draw our inspiration from Christ alone. Only then will our strength by renewed day by day when trust in Him.
Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.
Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
School is back in session now for most kids and teachers. The summer always goes by so fast. Now is the time of the year when you anticipate the crispness in the air and Fall. That is what is so great about the seasons. We are usually ready for a change. Are we ever satisfied with our life is or is like the change in weather. We get to one point and start wishing something else was different? Before we know it our life will pass and we will never be satisfied. That is why we live everyday one day at a time and fill our hearts with the Lord and we will always be satisfied.
My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. Psalm 73:26
”People who never look at the past in thanksgiving will never look at the future with appreciation.” This is a quote that I read somewhere but a conversation I had the other day made me think of it again. We can never move ahead in our future bounded by our past. God tells us in his word if we confess our sins and truly repent from them that he forgives us. Why do we have such a hard time forgiving ourselves? We should be thankful when we see God’s mercy and grace and how he delivers us from our mistakes. Don’t let Satan steal your joy in being redeemed by a Saviour who loves you so much.
Yet you, LORD, are our Father.
We are the clay, you are the potter;
we are all the work of your hand.
Do you realize how fast the days go by? July is almost over already. Before you know it will be time for school to start. Aren’t you glad we worship a God that is not bound by time. How do we spend our time. Is it focused on eternal blessings or temporal? Do we help others or help ourselves? Time may be fly by but one day there will be no more time constraints. While we are on this earth spend each day to the best of your ability.
Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes.
